Chair, Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship Knowledge Community (TLS KC)

Frieders is the founding executive director of the UC Davis's Global Learning Hub, which supports the university's "Global Education for All" initiative through study abroad, internships, research, experiential learning, and intercultural and global leadership opportunities. Frieders has more than 20 years of experience in higher education—including at community colleges and the Research I level—mostly in international education. He holds a MA in educational policy and has published multi-institutional research on student learning, study abroad, self-efficacy, and academic success. At NAFSA, Frieders has served in various district roles and as a regional TLS KC representative, Academy coach, and regional chair. He is currently Chair for the Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship Knowledge Community (TLS KC).
